A Special Kind Of Horror!!

Filed under: Entertainment, Humor, Music — J Green @ 10:31 am

Well, the title pretty much sums it up!! If you have any pre-existing heart conditions, are pregnant, suffer from PSE (Photosensitive Epilepsy), are prone to thoughts of gouging your eyes out, and/or are sitting somewhere that you cannot laugh or ridicule, you can still watch the video below…but consider yourself warned! Wow, this is like watching a washed-up actor trying to hold on to his glory of days long gone while either not realizing or not caring that the attention he is drawing is that uncomfortable laughter and ridicule with just a hint of pity…wait, that’s exactly what it is!

By the way, if Mr. Nowitzki is watching this, hopefully the joy of the video below will help wash away the bitter taste of the last 3 games and the 13 minutes of the game before that!

Some thoughts to ponder after watching the video (feel free to leave a comment!!):

  • Would KITT be a better singer or dancer? I’m pretty sure he could do both better than Michael Knight Mr. Baywatch David Hasselhoff, but which would he be better at?
  • Is Hasselhoff worse at singing that-sound-coming-from-his-mouth, dancing that-thing-where-he-moves-around-or-something, or acting being on TV?
  • Was that KITT’s cousin from Australia (notice that the steering wheel is on the wrong right side) or has KITT had a little work done since his days on Knight Rider?

Well, enough with the words – ENJOY…or GOOD LUCK!!

New use for the “sword of the Spirit”

Filed under: Humor, Religion — doubleshockinc @ 10:36 am

I know that our battle is not against flesh and blood, "but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms".  With that in mind, it is great to be brushed up on your Bible verses as it is "the sword of the Spirit".  But, what if our battle was against flesh and blood?  I think the word of God can still come in handy as one little old lady demonstrated.  Check this clip out from a late night radio show.

Let’s Kick This Pig!

Filed under: Humor, Internet — J Green @ 11:18 am

Well, wanted to set the table for a special guest speaker that you will find showing up in future posts to help out with some questions…Ask A Ninja! As an introduction for Mr. Ninja, I thought it'd be best to show his responses to a number of questions (about 27 of them…not that I counted!) that have been sent his way.

The true cost of obesity

Filed under: Humor — rspellecy @ 12:24 pm

So, we all know Americans are fat. And according to the above chart, we are just getting fatter. And sure, we can cite study after study about how white, middle-aged Americans are less healthy that our white, middle-aged British counterparts (oh…and we pay twice as much for our health-care, to no avail), which is linked in part to obesity (JAMA, May 2, 2006). And sure, we are trying to fix it, by taking soda (or pop, depending on where you live) out of the schools. But I guess I never really realized the true impact of obesity today.

My wife and son and I had lunch at Bella's Fat Cat, a burger and custard place in Milwaukee. Now, I like to be fairly close to the table when I eat. I have noticed over the past year or so though, that the table is getting farther and farther away from me at restaurants when I sit in a booth. If I am at a regular table, I can always move the chair closer, but in a booth, the distance is fixed, and the distance is growing! Believe me, I'm not losing weight. Restaurants are extending the distance between tables and bench-style seats in order to accommodate our ever-expanding waistlines. This folks, is the true tragedy in America's obesity epidemic. Not rising health care costs, disability stemming from type II diabetes and the like. No…it is the tragedy that people like me face, and the realization that someday soon, I will have to buy an extend-able fork or give up on booths altogether.

Mmmmm….Potato chips

Filed under: Food, Humor — rspellecy @ 11:07 am

So, I was reading the Sunday paper, when came across an ad for a new line of potato chips from Lay's…the "Lay's Sensations" chips. They have some cool sounding flavors, like "lime and cracked pepper." But then they had quotes from famous chefs, like Ming Tsai, saying things like, "A perfect match for your favorite wine." Really…So you're telling me that Ming Tsai, world famous chef, host of his own cooking shows on the Food Network and Public Television, is going to bust out a bag of Lay's potato chips before he heads down to the wine cellar to uncork his 1997 bottle of Chateau de Frou-Frou Fi-Fi????? I think a better add would have been, "A perfect match for your favorite soda," so that when I open a can of vintage 2006 Dr. Pepper, I can be assured that the delicate flavor of the Dr. Pepper will balance nicely with the subtle lime and pepper flavors (Oh yes, I am being sarcastic).
