Scrybe marking Outlook off your Task List?!

Filed under: Business, Internet, Technology — J Green @ 11:27 am

Wow, just watched a couple videos of an upcoming web-based organizer – Scrybe. First of all, if you use (or should use!) ANY type of organizer – paper or electronic – you need to check this out! I’d try to describe it, but you really are better off just watching the video. If you go the site, there’s currently a similar demo video there too. I just signed up to be notified of the beta testing period. One parting thought, combine this with Google’s Gmail and their Docs and Spreadsheets, and you’ve got quite a competitive alternative for the average users to Microsoft’s Office!!

Fake Terrorist or die-hard Packer Fan?!

Filed under: Internet, News — J Green @ 5:01 pm

Jake J. BrahmWell, as you probably already know, Milwaukee has been thrust into the nation’s limelight yet again for our beautiful (albeit sometimes poop-filled) lakefront, our striking art museum, our outstanding baseball team…who am I kidding, we know what sells newspapers! Yes, we are home to the latest cause of terror that swept has beyond NFL fans to soccer moms and soccer fans everywhere (‘cuz we know all true soccer fans abhor football!!). A Tosa grocery store clerk, Jake J. Brahm, was the author of a forum posting that threatened “dirty bomb” detonations at several NFL stadiums this upcoming weekend. Personally, I’m not sure if his “prank” was really the result of a competition with some guy in Texas or if he was doing his part to help the Packers get two weeks in a row without a loss!! Regardless, my legal advice to him would be to use the “I’m not a terrorist – I just play one on the internet” defense…or maybe that’s the defense he SHOULDN’T use. Ah, who knows?! I’m a Packers fan…it’s been quite a while since I’ve known anything about a good defense!!! Anyways, Jake has been released on personal recognizance and the date for his next hearing has not yet been set. So I wonder what grocery store this guy works at (please post a comment if you know!)…and I wonder how long his line will be at the store if he wasn’t smart enough to call in sick. ‘Course I’m sure his manager will know he’s just skippin’ work if he follows the news at all!

Update: I’ve heard that he works (worked?!) at Outpost Natural Foods. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

New Layout & Content

Hey, as you may notice, the layout has changed…again! I’ve also added quite a bit of content along the right-hand side. There are RSS feeds from the Journal Sentinel Online (JSO: News & JSO: Sports), ESPN, The Associated Press (AP: News & AP: Sports), Relevant Magazine, various sources of news pertaining to Christianity (Christian News), some Columnists, and last but DEFINITELY not least, a feed of some of my favorite podcasts (audio or video). Anyways, hope you enjoy the new layout and the additional content. I’d love to hear back from anyone on their thoughts about it…especially if you have any suggestions for additional content or some spare time to become one of the bloggers!!! Enjoy!

Volleyball Signup

Filed under: Announcements, Sports — J Green @ 10:00 pm

Tachikara SV5W GoldJust a reminder for any GCF-ers who would be interested in playing volleyball – there is a signup sheet in the back of the church. This is open to all members 18 and older. While this is a men’s league, women are able to signup also. There are two teams – upper level and lower level. The upper level is pretty much set already, but if you know what a 6-2 is (and more importantly, if you can play it as one of the setters!), there’s a good chance I’ll make a way for you to get on the upper level team. The league will start around Thanksgiving and will be on Monday nights at Heritage High School (Hwy 100 & Greenfield Ave). If you have any additional questions, please speak to me – Jason.

A Gift Idea for the Traveller

Mini Travel IronWell, in order to keep the momentum of the posting to the blog again, while also keeping up with the gift suggestions, here’s one for that traveller you know (or maybe you yourself are the traveller and you know that no one else is gonna be buyin’ you any gifts this year…dang, that was low…sorry!). Hopefully the traveller only has a couple wrinkles or possibly wears freakishly small clothes!! Otherwise, I hope they’ve got a good couple hours to kill before that meeting!

Well, I know you’re just dying to pick one of these up now, so without further ado, click here to go to the site and pick one up!

Coming Zune and Coming Soon?!

Filed under: Entertainment, News, Technology — J Green @ 8:16 am

Microsoft Z

unesWell, it’s been many moons since my last post…sorry! Not much time to write this post, but we’ll see how much I can squeeze in!

So what does it take to kill Apple’s monopolistic hold on the portable audio/video market? Well, maybe another company that knows a thing or two about monopolistic market domination!! Coming to store shelves everywhere in about a month is Microsoft’s Zune. I could go on and on about all the details you may, but probably DON’T, want to know, but instead, why not just read up on it here and/or browse the articles here!! And if you’ve got a spare $250 sittin’ in your wallet around November 14th, you can get first-hand experience. Also, not a bad idea to pick up as Christmas gift for this post’s author!!! Speaking of gifts, my gift idea for Spellecy is now on sale for $16.49…a great idea for any avid DVD viewers out there!!

Video iPod Mock-upOf course, for all you Apple fans and sufferers of Microsoft-phobia, the rumor mill is hitting a feverish pace with new, old, and recycled tidbits about a TRUE video iPod…as opposed to an iPod with video (that’d be the current ones for anyone new to this rumor!). This image is a verified and honest-to-goodness image of the Video iPod…as interpreted by some artist probably having no connections whatsoever to Apple other than his purchasing history!! Anyways, it pretty much codifies all the rumors into a visual depiction: full widescreen display, on-screen controls, and Apple’s rounded-corner goodness! Again, with so many places to catch up on this rumor, I’ll just point you towards one of my favorite sites for reading up on it…which would be here!
