The Value Of A Penny

Filed under: Finance, News — J Green @ 4:41 pm

1909-S VDB Lincoln Head PennyWhile the cost of a penny has now risen to 40% higher than its face value, there are a few pennies recently dropped into circulation that shift that balance dramatically in the opposite direction! So while we're rounding up pennies in the search for one worth $200, $300, or $1000, why don't we take the rest of them and see if the U.S. Mint will buy them at cost?! For those of you without a calculator (or if u gots a publick edjukayshun like me did), that means $1000 of pennies would get us a check for $1400…almost enough profit to fill the gas tank!
